I thought this was interesting - art made of words. Sort of like poetry on a wall I guess:

Marina Tsvetaeva - English Translations
It seems to be really hard to find Marina Tsvetaeva's poems in English for some reason. But I was persistent because I like Elena Frolova's album singing some of Tsvetaeva's poems. So voila here's the link for you Silver Age Poetry enthusiasts:

Russian - Cognitive Linguistic Approach
I've started to have a peek at cognitive linguistics. Not sure I can grasp it but I'm totally fascinated by it at the moment. I ran across this site which is unlike anything I have ever seen before for teaching Russian Grammar. It is still largely under construction but this is really interesting:
http://hum.uit.no/lajanda/aspect/ainr/
It relates imperfective and perfective verbs to fluid and solid objects, their shapes, and transformative properties. Basically viewing grammar through the properties of matter. Really neat concept - check it out.

Russian Children's Stories
For some reason Russian children's stories seem to be a hard item to find. I got lucky this weekend and finally ran across a free site that has some simply tales:

You can get the audio for most of them for free here:

Just click on :КАЧАЕМ below each set and you're in business.

Resources for Learning Norwegian
I must be getting old and nostalgic because I've suddenly had a burning desire to learn Norwegian. My father's side of the family are Norwegians from Tingvoll. My father is the 2nd generation in the US. Anyway I digress - here are some cool links I've found:
http://www.languageonthe.net/norsk/index.htm - A super site for beginners. Gives you all the basics to get you going.
http://www.klartale.no/ - An online weekly newspaper all in Norwegian. It is supposed to be good for learners although you have to have a bit of vocab under your belt before tackling this one.
http://norskklassen.ce-service.biz/ - This is a great gathering place that is like a message board of sorts for people helping each other learn Norwegian.
http://pavei.cappelen.no/ - Great for grammar exercises although again you can't be a total beginner to tackle it.
http://langmedia.fivecolleges.edu/laser/norwegian/nlmain.html - This is a great set of videos and exercises where you can see real Norwegians speaking Norwegian which is obviously - helpful. Again not for an absolute beginner.
