Great website for learning Tibetan

I ran across this today and thought it was pretty neat:

A FREE site that shows you how to write in Tibetan and gives you some of the basics.

You can also check out "Tibetan Language Learing Resources" in iTunes - it is a podcast that has vocab lists and videos of dialogs. Looks interesting although I think it is a bit beyond a beginner. It goes along with the textbook Manual of Standard Tibetan by Nicolas Tournadre which is available at amazon.com but pretty expensive at $50.

French In Action - Learning French On-Line

You all have probably heard of that show that used to be on public television called "French in Action" to learn the basics of the language. You can watch it for FREE at http://www.learner.org/resources/series83.html?pop=yes&vodid=148750&pid=684#
Each segment is 30 minutes long. I'll warn you though - I can run it fine at work on my fabulous FREE T1 line but at home on dial-up forget about it :(

Great way to learn Pashto

If you are interested in learning Pashto (spoken in Afghanistan) I found a ton of stuff all for FREE on www.eric.ed.gov. Just type "Pashto" in the search engine and you will find PDF files of a Beginning and Intermediate Textbook (both with answer keys) as well as Readers for additional practice and a glossary.

Great Site For Learning Farsi

If you are interested in learning Farsi by all means the best site I have found on the Internet is
www.easypersian.com. It is all free and has about 180 lessons all with sound, shows you how to write, grammar explanations etc. etc. .....the works! It also has lots of great poetry and music clips.
