iPod and Podcasts Recommended

I just bought a G5 iPod. It's amazing, I can't believe how much stuff it does. I've already loaded about 3,000 songs as well as videos.

If you want to convert DVDs or video files to be compatible with iPod I recommend:

http://www.cucusoft.com/ The $39.95 one does everything you could ever need. It's very easy to use and a bargain if you have a ton of DVDs and video files like me.

So I am slowly getting into the world of podcasting. Here's some of the best I've found for languages so far:

A Spoonful of Russian: Excellent for beginning to intermediate Russian. A native speaker who also has a great website with exercises etc.

French for Beginners: Excellent for beginners. A native French speaker, she has a really clear voice and has been a teacher for a number of years.

The French Pod Class: For beginners as well but a little more intensive than French for Beginners because he covers a lot more material per lesson. A native speaker, the materials are excellent and he has lots of great music and movie pics as well.

Kazakhstan Stories: An interesting semi-regular podcast from a Canadian guy currently living in Kazakhstan.

Kol Cambridge: A great university radio show that features Israeli and Jewish music.

The Israel Hour: Another great university show that features Israeli and Jewish music.

As I get more into it I will post other shows that I think are worth checking out.

Great Flashcard Program For Mac

I just bought my first Mac and I love it. Lots of neat stuff. One thing I ran across which is a total must have for amateur linguists such as myself is:

http://www.loopware.com/iflash/

It's just $14.95. A flash card program that not only remembers cards you don't get right, you can also put in any font you want as well as pictures and even sound. I haven't seen anything better on the internet. It's really easy to use and does anything you could ever want to do with a flashcard.
