Fantastic Program for Learning Western Armenian

www.discoverarmenian.com offers a software package for learning Western Armenian. I've been looking for good materials from which to learn it for years and this is the best I have seen. It seems to be geared towards children but is just as good for adults learning from scratch.

It has a cartoon base where you follow the character "Noah" through a bunch of different scenes. The program is very user friendly, has excellent sound quality and grammar explanations that even a novice like me can comprehend with lots of examples. What is also great is it has a section of basic levels for the complete beginner (to teach you how to read the letters and basic vocab and grammar) then it moves on to a more advanced "walk through a city" that contains similar formated modules. It also has supplemental cultural articles and even karaoke sing along in Armenian. Seriously - how cool is that?

I can't rave enough, really a top notch program and although it is a little on the pricey side ($49.99 + shipping) I promise it is well worth it. It's much more fun and easier to understand than the few grammar books available on the subject.

Also if you want to pursue Eastern Armenian there is a neat site that works on a similar looking module. Check out http://www.birthrightarmenia.org/depihayk/index.php?home. Looks like everything on this one is free.
